NLPI is a holding company focused on infrastructure-related investments throughout Southern Africa.
Nedbank, Old Mutual and Sanlam, major South African financial institutions, are among NLPI’s shareholders. Together with New Limpopo Bridge Projects Limited (NLP), an investment company controlled by Grindrod Mauritius since 2012 with extensive project development experience, they have forged a strong foundation for NLPI.
With a cumulative market capitalization exceeding $15 billion, all NLPI shareholders are experienced in structuring engineering financing, developing and implementing projects and managing and operating infrastructure projects.
NLPI, one of the largest foreign investors in Southern Africa, has been involved in projects with particular emphasis in the area of transportation. It is currently evaluating additional large-scale projects in the sectors of energy, electricity generation and mining. All NLPI projects are owned and operated by different Group members.
NLPI projects, based on the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) concept initially introduced in the region by the Group over a decade ago, are considered milestones in private sector involvement in promoting and investing in the national foundation and infrastructure in Africa. The core BOT concept, together with self-financing and skilled management, continues to be NLPI’s fundamental vision and business approach for implementing successful infrastructure projects.
The Group is also involved in numerous community and social projects in Africa
